Alice Donut – Live

Alice Donut is a punk rock band from New York City formed in 1986. The band released six albums on Alternative Tentacles before splitting up in 1996. They reformed in 2001 and released three more albums and a documentary Freaks in Love. Hopefully Alternative Tentacles re-issues there albums sometime.
The occasionally do reunion concerts like the one I went to a few years ago in Brooklyn. They are one of my favorite bands to see live, wish I had recorded some of the shows I saw. But someone did here are two live tapes one from the Khyber and one from City Gardens.

Snub

Snub was formed in Philadelphia Pa in the fall of 1991 out of the ashes of the local combos Derelict Hotel, Grisly Fiction and Scab Cadillac. Doug Anson of Derelict Hotel fame played guitar and sang while Roger Bodine formerly of Grisly Fiction contributed bass and vocals and Paul Hazlet of Philly legends Scab Cadillac played the drums. Familiar with each other from the Philly scene and eager to collaborate, Doug and Roger brought in songs that the combo expanded upon, developing a very unique and individual sound. They debuted live at The Khyber Pass on March 18th 1992, opening for The Afghan Wigs. This was followed by several other shows at the Khyber, culminating in their final performance opening for Pavement on July 30th 1992. Doug moved to Arizona in August of that year and eventually formed the Gelcaps. Roger would next join Underraga while Paul would go on to play in Mel’s Rock Pile.

Lubricated Goat – Live

Some live shows from Lubricated Goat (Australian noise rock) that was on Amphetamine Reptile, Sub Pop and other labels in the 80s and 90s.

The first two Lubricated Goat’s albums Plays The Devil’s Music & Paddock Of Love have been re-released. Also, found the last album Forces You Don’t Understand here and the 2002 re-recordings of previously released Lubricated Goat songs The Great Old Ones. No sign of Psychedelicatessen, though.

After Lubricated Goat Stu Spasm was in Crunt with Kat Bjelland (Babes in Toyland) and Russel Simmons (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion)

Currently he fronts the The Art Gray Noizz Quintet a group featuring ex-members of iconic bands such as Lubricated Goat, The Beasts of Bourbon, Woman, and Live Skull (and Ruin) Interview here.

A Subtle Plague

A Subtle Plague moved to Philly for a while in the mid 80s from upstate New York before moving on to San Francisco. If I remember right the first time I meet them was at an Agitpop show probably at Dobbs. They had just moved here and soon after began playing all the clubs in Philly and very quickly became part of the scene. They had a very unique sound with world-wide influences that was unlike any other local bands at the time. They were defiantly one of my favorite bands to see live at that time. So, I’ve collected three live tapes all from Philly shows – the first two while they were living here and the third from when they returned in 1990. The first is a live tape they released from Bacchanal on October 21st 1987. The 2nd was a Live on WKDU (not sure of the date of this one – also Thanks Jackie & Diego for the tape) The third is from the Khyber on October 22, 1990. (Thanks Don for this one) As a bonus I’ve added a video about A Subtle Plague from Youtube and a couple of flyers, sticker and tape case images below.

Links to the bands releases – Apple Music.

New music is available these days, spawned from the past members of A Subtle Plague under monikers The Durgas featuring Chris & Benji Simmersbach and The Cult Inside My Head with Pat Ryan and Magnus Fleischmann.

Cows – Live – Khyber shows

One of my all-time favorite bands to see live The Cows, were one of the best of the 90’s Amphetamine Reptile bands. I never taped any of their shows probably so I could just enjoy the show. Luckily Don Sheluga (THANKS) did tape them twice from the Khyber one from November 90 and another from October 92. Sorry I didn’t do that well with the song titles -I’ll try to fix them later.

Original Sins

Original Sins

Two shows from the 1980s Garage revival legends. Original Sins formed 1985 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.and continued through much of the 1990s releasing many records. The Khyber show was without their keyboard player. Both shows were recorded from the audience and have good sound quality.
Can anyone fill in the song titles?
They have a facebook page here.
Also defiantly check out Brother JT’s records on his site or bandcamp and the two other current bands RunHideFight & Suffacox mach2 (original Suffacox led by the late & legendary Wayne Hamilton) he is in.
